Meet India Stokes.

About India (she/her)

Based out of New York City, India Stokes began dancing as a child in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she was born and raised. She studied styles from all over the world such as Hula, Philippine Folk, and Tahitian as well as ballet, modern, hip hop, breaking and more. Throughout her life, India has had the privilege and opportunity to travel the world and perform alongside her family, experiencing different cultures and the way they use art and expression. She danced with Ballet Repertory Theatre of New Mexico as a company trainee and performed in numerous productions such as The Nutcracker, Coppélia, Swan Lake, Beauty and the Beast, and more. India has attended Broadway Dance Center’s Independent Training Program as well as summer intensives with Joffrey Texas and Ballet Repertory Theatre.

India is passionate about what dance has to offer individuals and everyone’s unique experience within dance. She believes dance has something to offer everyone, no matter their ability or style of focus. In a teaching atmosphere, India takes pride in adapting her teaching methods to the students’ learning styles and helping her students find confidence within themselves, not just in dance, but in their lives outside of dance as well.
